sit&tell

The Sit&Tell Project was a multi-participatory community project that used the metaphor of a chair as an invitation for friendship and communication. The Sit&Tell Project collected 100 stories as told by Toledo citizens on World Storytelling Day, March 20, 2016.

Toledo participated in the 2016 global theme, Strong Women, inviting storytellers who had benefitted from strong women in their lives. After the storytelling event on March 20, the collection of stories were interpreted by area graphic designers, painters, illustrators and photographers who were carefully selected by a panel of experienced jurors. Their artwork has been printed on graphic material and applied to 100 chairs provided by MTS Seating. These artful chairs, along with a corresponding link to their story, went on a rolling exhibition through Toledo Neighborhoods in June 2016. I acted as both a storyteller and a listener to help in the progression of the project.
